Facilitation skills are key to good organising, campaigning and movement building. Join Young Friends of the Earth Scotland to get skilled up to run great meetings and workshops!
This training is open to everyone aged 16-30, but they particularly welcome people who plan to attend their skillshare in April and would like to run a session there.
They will be exploring skills and tools that are useful for running both meetings and workshops. This workshop is suitable for beginners and those who want to improve the skills they already have.
In this training you will:
Gain facilitation skills for both meetings and workshops
Learn practical tools and methods for facilitation
Explore the basics of designing and running workshops
Think about facilitating for different learning styles
Begin to gain awareness of your own strengths in facilitation
Venue
They will be in the Library Room at the Quaker Meeting House.
The Quaker Meeting House can be accessed on foot from the top of Lawnmarket or from the George IV Bridge/Victoria Street. Buses 23 and 27 pass along George IV bridge. Many buses serve Princes St and North Bridge, both under 10 minutes walk away. See Lothian Buses website for times. The closest railway station is Edinburgh Waverley. From Waverley it is a 10-minute walk to the Meeting House.
Arrivals
Feel free to join them from 6.20pm as we will start at 6.30pm sharp.
Accessibility
The venue has full step free access with a ramp at the front door, a lift to all floors and accessible toilets. This workshop is interactive. The workshop will largely be seated but there will be some activities which involve moving around the room.
They welcome mask wearing and ask you not to attend if you have any symptoms of cough, cold or covid19.
Please let them know if you have any access needs and they will do their best to accommodate you. Travel reimbursements available for those who need them.
