Joining ECCAN

Why should I join?

ECCAN aims to support a rich and collaborative network of people and communities within the city who want to take action to combat the climate emergency. Our goal is to encourage this action via community led climate activities, project and initiatives. We have a dedicated annual pot of seedgrant funding to distribute to our membership.

Our membership as a network will work collaboratively sharing skills, resources, ideas and ambitions to create sustainable, climate friendly, resilient communities across the city.

ECCAN is now warmly accepting membership applications from those who support the vision, principles and aims of the Hub and its network. We would love to hear fom you.

Benefits of membership

We’ll support you to shape your climate action project regardless of it’s size, scope, or location within the city. ECCAN is working towards a just transition in Edinburgh and is keen to hear from groups and individuals who wish to do likewise in their communities.

The network Help shape a network of groups and individuals working across the city to deliver climate action in their communities. From working with individuals, to having climate-friendly behaviours embedded into organisation’s operations, ECCAN is here to help.

Funding Members of ECCAN have access to our GreenLight seedgrant funding which spans viarious pot sizes and includes micro-grants. It’s easy to access and will help build transitional change in Edinburgh’s communities.

What do I get as a member?

All members receive our monthly newsletter with news of events, activities, training, initiatives and information on funding streams. There is no obligation when you join ECCAN but we hope that by engaging with the network your organisation grows and succeeds in it’s climate objectives.

As we grow the organisation, we will look at creating sub-networks based on working themes in the city, for example transport, biodiversity & greenspace, and energy. Once established, these sub-networks will provide peer-to-peer support, underpinned by ECCAN’s infrastructure and expertise.
