Climate Psychology Alliance Scotland and ECCAN invite you to two empowering training days designed to equip you with the tools, knowledge, and support to navigate the complexities of the climate emergency and foster meaningful change.
Please note attendance to the Facilitation Training (Day 2) is open to those that also attend either the Opening to Action training (Day 1) or a Climate Café Listening Circle session.
Day 1: Opening to Action Saturday, 8th February, 10am-4.30pm
Unleash Your Potential for Climate Action
This transformative day is designed to help you connect with your inner motivation and channel your energy into effective climate action. You’ll explore:
- Your personal journey: Understand your unique relationship with climate change and how it shapes your perspective.
- Emotional resilience: Learn strategies to manage eco-anxiety and cultivate a healthy mindset.
- Effective communication: Develop skills to have meaningful conversations about climate change, even with those who disagree.
- Building community: Connect with like-minded individuals and create supportive networks.
Attendees must also take part in an evening 90 minute follow-up session that will be done online. To ensure a suitable time and date is arranged, attendees and facilitators will decide on this date together when they meet at the in-person Opening to Action training.
This is an all-day training starting at 10am and finishing at 4.30pm. Lunch is provided, so make sure to let us know your dietary requirements when booking your place.
Day 2: Facilitation Training: Group Work & Dynamics Saturday, 8th March, 10am-4.30pm
Master the Art of Facilitation and Deep Listening
This training day is for those interested in facilitating group discussions, holding space for difficult emotions, and creating inclusive environments. You’ll learn:
- Climate Cafe Listening Circle techniques: Discover how to guide open-ended conversations that foster empathy, understanding, and action. You can read more about the Climate Cafe Listening Circle here.
- Group dynamics: Understand the dynamics of group work and how to effectively manage conflict and build consensus.
- Facilitation skills: Develop the skills to lead engaging and productive discussions.
Please note that prior attendance either at a Climate Café Listening Circle, or attendance to the Opening to Action (Day 1) is required to take part in the Climate Café Listening Circle Training on Day 2.
