Family (and Football Fan) Friendly Spring Social Event- by edinburgh building retrofit and improvement collective

Early afternoon, this Sat 25th May!

Come to our sunny* secluded city centre venue and find out what we and our groups are up to, talk building retrofit and community improvement and enjoy refreshments on us!

We’re holding a sociable and informative, family-friendly and catered social event, and we’d love you to be there!

We’re celebrating our first year of work to foster and promote the benefits of collaborative community-led building retrofit and improvement around the city. It runs from 12.30 to around 14.30** on Saturday 25th May (doors from 12.00), in the downstairs Hall at St Columba’s by the Castle, which is very central and also has a lovely quiet, south-facing patio garden. Its a venue that all can get to and an event that welcomes families with children to attend. We are also providing some decent light refreshments and drinks.


While you relax, you’ll be able to visit stalls to learn more about what EdinBRIC has been doing and plans to do, and the work of the various groups of different sizes and forms that make up the Collective. You’ll also be able to check out the pop-up displays from the Retrofit Rover (see below).


This will be combined with plenty of opportunity to chat with members of the management committee and partner groups, and with others interested in the opportunities and challenges of domestic building retrofit and improvement and the advantages of collaborative community-led projects.


Join us to:
talk about the continuous and natural progression from:
building repairs -> maintenance -> energy efficiency -> clean heating;
consider the wide spectrum of possible measures to take from:
DIY -> professionally advised and contracted work;
and, of course, discuss our USP: the many benefits of working in a collaborative group with others.


Please note: to aid our planning and catering, please register for as many tickets as people you expect in your party.
