Edinburgh Communities Climate Action Network Launch and Spring Gathering

Are you ready to join forces with like-minded individuals and organisations working towards a sustainable future? All welcome!

Come to the Edinburgh Communities Climate Action Network (ECCAN) Launch and Spring Gathering. It’s going to be an incredible event filled with networking, activities, and inspiring conversations.

We will come together to launch the Network’s programme for next year, share ideas and stories.

You’ll have the opportunity to take part in workshops, interactive speeches, networking, and explore topics like place-based planning, power in the community, and communicating climate change.

Keynote provocation

We will hear from Chris Johnstone who is co-author, with Joanna Macy, of Active Hope: how to face the mess we’re in with unexpected resilience and creative power. Known internationally for his writings and online training, his work explores what helps us face disturbing situations and respond in ways that contribute to positive change. Dr Carole Kelly, ECCAN Convener we will share ECCAN’s action plan.

Keynote speech from the Scottish Government TBC.

We will hear inspiring stories from some of the local projects funded by the Edinburgh Community Climate Fund.

There will be an opportunity to join the following workshops:

  1. Focus group on Creating an Edinburgh’s green map – Scottish Tech Army.
  2. Buildings, retrofitting and clean heat – Clean Heat Edinburgh Forum
  3. Climate Cafe Listening Circle by the Climate Psychology Alliance.
  4. Widening participation & Equity, Diversity and Inclusion by CEMVO Scotland

There will also be a locally produced and sustainable lunch. We will cater for diverse dietary requirements.

Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to connect with other leaders and experts in the field, and to learn about the latest developments in community action against climate change.
