Running Out of Time Climate Relay June 6th – July 4th 2024

The Relay launches at Ben Nevis before undertaking an extraordinary 2 436 km journey through 50 cities and towns to Big Ben. Comprising 210 stages – and 80+ visits to climate & nature projects, sporting bodies & venues, schools, events and iconic locations – it’s set to be the most spectacular Climate Relay yet.

The Relay aims to raise awareness, inspire action and celebrate great climate work across the country and is partnering with a wide range of climate campaigns, projects and events ; sporting bodies; and local Councils. It’s also visiting 50 schools along the route.

It features famous sporting venues; stunning natural sites; schools; universities; community projects; music, fashion & climate events. And a host of different and eye-catching ways to move the baton which will be run, walked, cycled, swum, paddled, triathloned, sailed, skied, para-glided and wake boarded along the way!

It should be exciting, epic and inspirational and we’d love you to join us. Please sign up now at https://running-out-of-time.com/ – thank you!

The Relay Crew
Meet this year’s wonderful Relay crew:

Rohan Date : Head of Operations

Many of you will already know Rohan who’s been heading up all things schools for the past few months. He’s organised for the Relay to visit fifty schools including nine during the Green Schools Relay in Manchester (June 14th) and seven during the London School Run (July 3rd).  Rohan is a former maths teacher with a passion for sport, the climate, and widening participation.

Roisin McDonough : Head of Content

Roisin is an experienced TV researcher and producer who’s worked with the BBC and National Geographic and has an MSci in Biological Sciences and a fascination for the underwater world. She also has a Dive Master qualification which could come in handy if we lose the baton during the sailing, swimming, paddle boarding and wakeboarding legs in this year’s Relay!

Harry Hughes : Head of Logistics

Harry is as passionate about climate change and inclusivity as he is about running and cycling. A competitive runner in his younger years, Harry embraced two wheels in the pandemic and hasn’t looked back since.
